A JOB ISN'T JUST A JOB, IT'S WHO YOU ARE
If something bears fruit, it produces positive or successful result
It means that there is no shortcut to get success. It needs thousands of hard work and years to get it. This situation is really happened towards Tan Sri Dato' Ungku Dr. Zeti Akhtar Aziz. She needs to cross all the hurdles in her life in order to be what she is right now.
After graduating from University Malaya, she had been offered to work in governor bank. Because of she wants to do her research in banking, she remains in that university and became a tutor for almost a year in economic and administration faculty. She had written a thesis called "Commercial Bank Portfolio in an Open Developing Economy : Taking into Account International Capital Flows in an Environment of Interest Rate and Exchange Rate Movement."
On 1979 until 1984, she starts her career as an Economy Research in South- East Asia Central Bank Training & Research Center.

In SEACEN,she had been called to work in Bank Negara as Deputy Manager of the Department Economics in 1985.
1989 until 1994, she always had been sent to London as Chief Representative at Bank Representative Office in London.
After coming back to Malaysia, she holds the position as Head of Economic Department before being promoted as Assistant Governor of the Central Bank in 1995 due to her persistence and achievements.
1 September 1998, when Malaysia is facing financial crisis she had been elected as Central Bank Governor Regent after resignation of Datuk Ahmad Mohd Don and she had been Deputy Governor of Central Bank for 2 years.
On 1 May 2000, she had been appointed as the seventh Governor Bank Negara Malaysia and the first women that hold position and also the first women becoming Governor Bank Center in Asia.
In 2011, the government had extended her services to another five years because she can make the Central Bank as strong and respected institution in country and abroad.
In the nutshell, this shows that it is not easy for her to be governor although there is a shortcut for her which is through her father. She had to climb one ladder to another ladder before being really successful women in her life. To be success in life, she need to work harder and sacrifices lots of things around her just to make sure that she get what she dreams for all this time and make it become reality.
